Do you have a minimum stay policy? Yes, we require a two night minimum stay.

How many people does your home sleep?
  6

What are your rates?
Please email us for rates and availability.

Where do I pick up the key?
 Once you have made your reservation and sent us a deposit, we will be emailing information on where you will pick up the key.

What is the check in and check out times?
Check in time is 3pm and check out time is 11am.  Before you leave we ask that you strip the beds and put all the bedding and towels you used in the bathroom/laundry room. Please wash and put away dishes, turn off lights, close blinds and lock doors.

What do we do with the key when we are ready to leave?
You can leave the key on the kitchen counter.

Does the house have phone service?
We provide a land-line phone service from the house. All long-distance calls must be made with a phone card.  There is cell service at the house.

Is there a contact number we can give family members or house sitters?
Yes, we will give you the house landline number with your confirmation for your reservation.

Do you allow pets?
Yes, we allow well behaved pets. Please keep your pets off the furniture.  If there is any damage done to the home or grounds from your pet, or extra cleaning required, you agree to reimburse us for returning our home to its original condition. We charge a $5.00 per night fee for your pet’s stay.

Do you accept credit cards?
No

What is the tax?
Deschutes County Transient Lodging Tax for the Deschutes River House is 7%, and the State Lodging Tax is 1%, for a total of 8%.

Do you allow smoking in your home?
No

What happens if Mother Nature is in a bad mood?
Unfortunately we do not have any control over Mother Nature and are not able to refund money due to any issue that is beyond our control.

Where is the nearest place for gas or groceries?
You should purchase your gas and/or groceries in Bend or La Pine.

What is there to do once we get there?
The Deschutes River House is quiet, remote and secluded. Catch up on reading and star watching from the deck! There is also much to see if you like bicycling, hiking, on roads and trails. Swim, fish or inner tube the river (no, we don’t provide tubes). Check out our ‘Things to Do’ page.

What is your cancellation policy?
If we receive your cancellation request within 30 days from the date of your arrival date, a refund of your deposit will be given.
